The Ohio Senate has successfully overridden the governor's veto of the SAFE and Save Women's Sports acts, according to State Representative Scott Wiggam. The veto was overridden on Wednesday, with Wiggam voting in favor of the override in the House earlier this month. The legislation, known as House Bill 68, aims to protect children experiencing gender dysphoria from undergoing sex change procedures, such as chemical castration and invasive surgeries. Additionally, it includes the Save Women's Sports Act, which ensures the integrity of women's-only athletic competitions from kindergarten through college.

In a statement, Wiggam expressed his support for the override, stating, "Children will now be safe from life-altering decisions, while also receiving the mental support they need, and women will no longer have to worry about men invading their space." He also highlighted the long process behind the legislation, saying, "This legislation has been worked on for years and now Ohio will be a place where women and children are valued for who they are."

With the override, House Bill 68 will become law in 90 days, providing protection for children and preserving the integrity of women's sports in the state of Ohio.
